The Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) in Halle (Saale) advertises one position as

Research assistant/student assistant (m/f)

Employment time: Part-time, maximum 11 hours per week

conditional upon degree Duration: the assignment is initially for 6 months, subject to extension

Salary: based on qualification, following German public services scheme for student assistants

Work place: IAMO, Halle (Saale), Germany Main tasks

The candidate is expected to support the research work of IAMO’s China Research Group. The main tasks of the research assistant will include, but not limited to:

  • Translation tasks between Chinese and English/German
  • Data collection, data input and cleaning work
  • General assistance in research work, such as literature and data searches
  • Other supporting tasks

Candidate profile

  • Master or bachelor student in agricultural economics/economics/geography or related fields
  • Chinese native speaker 
  • Experience in data management (Excel, STATA, SPSS etc.)
  • High proficiency in oral and written English; German skills are also highly desired
  • High personal commitment and strong motivation
